The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing target as many as 29 new
dam construction could be completed by 2019.
As many as 65 dams until 2022 that the government planned to be built
will be completed.
"Target the dam was completed a total of 29 new dams by 2019 which
will increase water storage be 14.42 billion cubic meters (m3)," said Head
of Dams Directorate General of Water Resources, the Ministry of Public Works
and Public Housing, Imam Santoso.
Based on data from the Directorate General of Water Resources, in 2015
has finished five dams. Five dams which have been completed in 2015, among
others Rajui Dam (Aceh), Jatigede Dam (West Java), Bajulmati Dam (East Java),
Nipah Dam (East Java), and Titab Dam (Bali).
Then, he continued, the dam will be completed in 2016, the Paya Seunara
Dam (Aceh) dan Teritip Dam (East Kalimantan). In 2017, Raknamo and Mila Dam
(NTT), Tanju Dam (NTB), and Marangkayu Dam (East Kalimantan) is targeted for
completion. Then in 2018 the seven dam will be completed, namely Gondang Dam (Central Java), Tugu Dam (East Java),
Logung Dam (Central Java), Rotiklod Dam (NTT), Sei Gong Dam (Riau), Bintang
Bano Dam (NTB), as well as Kuningan Dam (West Java).
In 2019, there were 11 dams are targeted to be completed in between that
Passeloreng Dam (South Sulawesi), Tapin Dam (South Kalimantan), Ciawi Dam (West
Java), Sukamahi Dam (West Java), Karalloe Dam (South Sulawesi), Sindang Heula
Dam (Banten), Keureuto Dam (Aceh), Bendo Dam (East Java), Gongseng Dam (East
Java), and Pidekso Dam (Central Java).
Imam continued, Ministry of Public Work and Public Housing currently
building 24 dams that consists of 11 dam advanced unfinished was built in 2014
and 13 new dam was built since 2015. As for this year will be built eight new
dams.
Furthermore, in 2017 there will be an additional nine dams, and in 2018
there were 11 dams and in 2019 there were eight dams will be constructed so
that a total of 65 dams. As for the overall construction of 65 dams to be
completed in 2022.
Imam added that the financing needs to build 65 dams is estimated at Rp
70,1 trillion sourced from the state budget Rp 64.04 trillion and Chinese loan
Rp 4.82 trillion for Jatigede dam and loans from South Korea Rp 1.26 trillion
to build Karian Dam.
