The Penajam Paser Uatara
regency administration in East Kalimantan province plans to build a 6 MW gas
engine power plant to help solve the power crisis in the area.
The power plant will be
built by the regency-owned firm Perusahaan Daerah Benuo Taka, Regent Yusran
Aspar.
Yusran said the regency is
now in talk with state owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara
(PLN) (Persero) on the price of the power to be generated from the power plant.
PLN is expected to buy the power from the power plant.
According to him, the
regency now has a deficit of power supply amounting to 1.5 MW.
