BLIMBINGSARI AIRPORT DEVELOPMENT CONTINUES

The Ministry of Transportation plans to build and develop new airport in 15 locations spread throughout Indonesia this year. In addition to the construction of the new airport, will be also an extension of the runway at 27 locations and rehabilitation of airport passenger terminals at 13 locations.

One of the airports that continue to improve is Blimbingsari Airport, Banyuwangi district.

The existence of the airport is believed to increase the economy in Banyuwangi as facilitate accessibility of Banyuwangi communities and surrounding. Usually the journey is from Banyuwangi to Surabaya by land takes about 8-10 hours.

With direct flights from Banyuwangi to Surabaya and vice versa will shorten travel time to less than one hour.

Blimbingsari airport is very strategic because Banyuwangi become one of the 10 major tourist destinations in Indonesia.
