Asosiasi Produsen Listrik Swasta Indonesia (APLSI) asked the government to prioritize
local entrepreneurs to participate in the auction building of a dam which will
be held by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing in the near future.
That local entrepreneurs can build hydro power plants to help the
government achieve the target construction of steam power plants 35,000 megawatts (MW). However, most of the
dam's small size, and is suitable only worked by electrical manufacturers scale
local Small and Medium Enterprises.
Of the 16 dams that will be on auction, there are eight potential to
produce electricity. Namely Banjulmati Dam in Banyuwangi of 0.34 MW, Tugu Dam
in Trenggalek (0.4 MW), Kuningan Dam in Kuningan (0.5 MW). Then Tukul Dam in
Pacitan (0.64 MW), Titab in Buleleng (1.5 MW), Karaloe in Gowa (5 MW), Jatigede
in Sumedang (110 MW). In addition, there are 13 dams being built, 11 of which
has the potential to produce electricity..
Chief Executive of APLSI Arthur Simatupang said that the majority of its
capacity dam into small pieces so it is enough to build a micro-hydro plant.
"We ask the local power producers are given priority in the auction,"
said Arthur.
