Indonesian Fisheries Public Company or Perum Perindo add five fish
transport vessel until the end of this year with an investment of Rp 10 billion
- Rp 15 billion.
The freighter will be used to absorb the fish from fishermen in Merauke,
Papua, with a total capacity of 500 tons per month.
Until mid-September, the state-owned company has dispatched three
vessels, namely the Kapal Motor (KM) Fajar Makmur, KM Samudera Dua, and KM
Setia Utama, with the size of each above 100 gross tonnes (GT).
"The assumption (transport capacity) an average of 100 tonnes. Five
vessels can be 500 tons," said Corporate Secretary General of Perum
Perindo Pamujo.
Three vessels are already operating the transporting fish of kurau,
senangin, gulama, bawal jenggot and kakap putih, from the fishing areas in
Merauke. The fishs was then sold to the domestic market.
Meanwhile, the two vessels will follow is KM Perindo Jaya and KM Mina
Anugrah 8 which is currently taking care of fish transport vessel license
(SIKPI). Agung did not mention the investment value of the procurement of five
vessels around Rp 10 billion - 15 billion.
