EPC PROJECT OF MUARA KARANG POWER PLANT RP 3.9 TRILLION

Another part of the power plant project 35,000 megawatts (MW) is ready to be built. Muara Karang Combined Cycle Power Plant will soon increase its capacity to 500 MW. Certainty is obtained after signing the construction of the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) between PLN and a consortium of Mitsubishi-Wijaya Karya in Jakarta.

Signatory to  EPC contract worth Rp 3.9 trillion was conducted by the Regional Director of Western Java of PLN Murtaqi Syamsuddin,

Wijaya Karya has a strong relationship with Mitsubishi so that they are able and continue to support the development of the electricity system in Indonesia. Combined Cycle Power Plant of 500 MW extension built in Muara Karang is configured with one gas turbine of Mitsubishi's latest series, the series F5; one heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) and one steam turbine (ST). Muara Karang Combined Cycle Power Plant construction will take 18 months for construction during the Gas Turbine Open Cycle and 8 months later for the final settlement of Combined Cycle Plan Plant.

In addition to the EPC contract signing, long term service agreement (LTSA) with a contract value of Rp 22 billion as well as an agreement was signed between Mitsubishi with PLN to maintain gas turbines for a planned maintenance cycle according to the standard manufacturer's maintenance estimates for six years. In 2019, this plant will be included in the Java-Bali electricity system in the sub-sector of Jakarta.
