PT Baruna Indonesia and investors from Singapore, Sakae Corporate
Advisory Ltd., is ready to develop Lieutenant Colonel Wisnu Airport in
Buleleng, Bali and build an integrated tourism area around the airport.
Regional Secretary of Buleleng Dewa Ketut Puspaka revealed a memorandum
of understanding with the investor has been made since last May, and now
investors are drawing up the master plan development plan.
The plan, Lieutenant Colonel Wisnu Airport in the Sumberkima village
will be expanded 134 ha, of which there are now widely used as a parking area
for private planes and wide-body aircraft. The runway will be extended to 2,200
meters, up from the current approximately 900 meters.
Lieutenant Colonel Wisnu Airport is located in the western part of
Buleleng and currently has an apron measuring 60 x 40 meters and taxiway lines
180 meters. Pioneering Airports in North Bali is used as a location for flight
schools Bali International Flight Academy (BIFA).
In addition to developing the airport, the investor will also build an
integrated tourism facilities such as hotels, resorts and harbor luxury boat or
yacht. Unfortunately, not yet known the value of the investment for the
construction of the airport.
