The ferro chrome plant belonging Tsingshan Bintangdelapan Group with a
capacity of 600,000 tonnes is being built in the Morowali Industrial Area
expected to commence operations in 2017.
Chairman Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP) Halim Mina said ferro
chrome plant investment value is US$ 500 million. The plant will be built to
support the stainless steel plant that require raw materials ferro-chrome 40%
and 60% nickel pig iron.
"Ferro chrome is being built. So the first Indonesian exports, now
we import from outside. Later we import chrome ore from South Africa and we are
purified in Indonesia as a raw material of stainless steel," he said.
He said all results in Morowali industrial production will be exported.
Currently the investment funds that have been entered for the construction
industry in the region there was US$ 4 billion.
