DEVELOPMENT OF DEPATI AMIR NEW TERMINAL COMPLETED END OF 2016

The Ministry of Transportation requested the construction of a new terminal of Depati Amir Pangkal Pinang airport can be accelerated in order to operate at the end of this year.

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said that the construction of the entrance to the terminal is still in progress. The plan, the construction of such access will be completed by mid November 2016.

"Hopefully, it could coincide with the anniversary of the Provincial Government of Bangka Belitung, and also can be operated at the end of this year given the growth of passengers who always go up every year," he said.

The new terminal of Depati Amir will accommodate as many as 1.5 million passengers per year, and serve people in four counties and one city, namely South Bangka, Central Bangka, West Bangka, Bangka Induk and Pangkal Pinang.

In addition to the terminal, he also asked AirNav Indonesia for immediate repair of the Instrument Landing System (ILS) air navigation in Depati Amir to the level of aviation safety at the airport remains high.
