PT Medco Power Generation Indonesia (MPGI), a power arm PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk, is teaming up with Korea Power Company (Kepco) of South Korea and Nebras Energy of Qatar in bidding for the 2x800 MW Jawa-1 combined cycle power plant project in Muara Tawar, Bekasi regency, West Java province.

Previously, Medco teamed up with Mitsui Co. Ltd. But, last month, the firm announced that the Japanese firm backed down from the project.
"The partnership has changed. We now partner with Kepco and Nebras Power. Since this is an important and strategic project, we only partner with those who have commitment," MPGI's CEO Lukman Mahfoedz said.

Lukman noted that the firm maintains a low profile approach in bidding for the Jawa-1 project.
