GE WINS CONTRACT IN TANGGUH PROJECT

GE Oil & Gas wins the contract to supply gas turbines for the third liquefied natural gas facility in order to expand the Tangguh project, having previously succeeded in providing original equipment for the first and second facility. This third facility equipment orders carried out by local business partner  of GE in Indonesia, PT Imeco Inter Sarana. 

Tangguh facilities in West Papua province, Indonesia, is being expanded to increase production of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to more than 3.8 million tonnes per annum (mtpa), so that the capacity of the facility can be reached 11.4 metric tons per year. Indonesia is one of the leading LNG supplier in Asia and one that has the fastest growing economy in the world.

"The agreement that GE will provide third liquefied natural gas facilities to Tangguh, nearly 15 years after the previous agreement realize the first two facilities, is a reflection of the performance of non-stop from the facility prepared by GE Oil & Gas," said President & CEO-Turbo Machinery Solutions, GE Oil & Gas Rod Christie.

The components of the turbo compressors provided by GE Oil & Gas will be manufactured at GE facilities in Greenville, South Carolina, USA and Florence, Italy, where the facility will be built and tested.
