The role of PT Pertamina (Persero) to immediately be able to manage the
Mahakam block through its subsidiary, PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam, seems to have
the bright spots. The government confirmed that Pertamina Hulu Mahakam will be
the operator of the largest gas field in Indonesia.
Thus, Pertamina Upstream Director Syamsu Alam said a subsidiary of
Pertamina could be involved in setting the Work Program and Budget
(WP&B) of Mahakam block for 2017 and
start investing.
The government will amend the production sharing contract (Production
Sharing Contract/PSC) Pertamina in the Mahakam block.
Pertamina can smoothly start investing, the expected PSC revision soon
completed by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and SKK Migas.
