PELINDO III BUILD CRUISE PORTS IN NTB

PT Pelindo III (Persero) will build a port in West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. The new port was named Gili Mas New Port, which is located in Gili Mas, Lembar District, not far from Lembar Port. This facility is projected to anchored cruise ships in 2018.

"The number of cruise ship visits to Lembar Port this year has been realized 13 ships," said Public Relations Manager of PT Pelindo III, Edi Priyanto.

A total of 18 cruises scheduled leaning in Lembar Port in 2016. Edi added, the trend of cruise arrivals increasing from year to year. "We predict a cruise tourists visit this year increase. Many ships coming directly from Australia."

Pelindo III targets the development of new port could begin in late 2016 and completed in 2018. It is working to acquire a land of 50 hectares, out of a total requirement of 100 hectares. "The investment value, to reach Rp 1 trillion," said Edi.

The company allocated around Rp 349 billion to revitalize the passenger terminal at the eleven small port of this year. Small ports are located in eastern Indonesia, namely the Tenau port, Kupang; Kumai port; Sampit port; Lembar port; Bima port; Maumere port; Batulicin port; Waingapu port; Ende port; Kalabahi port; and the Ippi port.
