The government re-opened the auction of Ciremai Mount
Geothermal Working Area (WKP) in West Java to business entities after the
previous operator returns the Geothermal Working Area to the government.
Previously, PT Chevron Geothermal Indonesia is the operator Ciremai Mount
Geothermal Working Area. Ciremai Mount Geothermal Working Area have
considerable reserve potential that is 150 megawatts (MW). However, the
development plan of the geothermal power plant were auctioned only 110 MW.
Developers offered the highest price of the benchmark electricity worth US$
15.9 cents / kilowatthour (kWh), with the target of the operation of geothermal
power plants in 2025. Business entities interested participate in the auction
can register until no later than December 14, 2016 and deposit cash collateral
worth Rp 2 billion.
