AirAsia Indonesia proposes to aircraft seat capacity of
55,000 units during the Christmas season and New Year in 2017, up five-fold
from the same period last year. But the AirAsia reluctant to mention any
service to be targeted. The plan extra flights and operation of wide-bodied
aircraft will be conducted during the period December 16, 2016 until February
5, 2017. In the meantime, the Garuda Indonesia airline has prepared at least
13,054 additional seats for domestic and international flights, starting
December 12, 2016 until January 23, 2017. 8,350 additional seats will spread
over 59 domestic flight routes. 59 routes, which added capacity as
Jakarta-Denpasar, Jakarta-Medan, Manado-Sorong-Jayapura, Manado-Sorong-Timika,
and so forth.
