SOLO TRAIN AIRPORT PROJECT

PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) has signed a memorandum of understanding with PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) and PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk to work on the train Soemarmo Adi airport in Boyolali, Central Java.

The signing of memorandum of understanding to do the task of implementing interim Director of Angkasa Pura I, Polana B. Pramesti; Director of KAI Edi Sukmoro; and Director of Adhi Karya Budi Harto; in Bandung, West Java, yesterday. "This MoU is the basis of the work plan at the beginning of realizing the project development of airport train facilities in the Soemarmo Adi Airport," said Polana.

According Polana, the project was intended to support the government policy to develop rail-based transportation from and to the airport. The scope of the MoU covers the preparation of the plan to the cultivation of the project. "The feasibility study will last for one year," said Polana.

He added that, if the results of the feasibility study stated the airport railway development project viable business, will be followed by the formation of a joint venture of three state-owned enterprises are involved. "It would be managed in an integrated manner," said Polana.

Airport train project of Adi Soemarmo rated as the seriousness of AP I to improve services to users of airport services. Meanwhile, President Director of KAI Edi Sukmoro mention this cooperation will lead to synergies between state-owned enterprises in other sectors.

So far, the airport is already connected to the train line is Kualanamu airport in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra. KAI with PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) and the government is also working on railway projects to Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang and Minangkabau Airport in Padang, West Sumatra.
