RP 784 BILLION JAKARTA SEA DIKE COMPLETED IN LATE 2017

The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing targets the construction of Jakarta sea dike project along 4.5 kilometers which is part of Phase A National Capital Integrated Coastal Development (NCICD) Project can be completed by late 2017.

Head of Central River Ciliwung Cisadane Region Teuku Iskandar stated that currently the construction progress of the project had reached 5%. Jakarta Coastal construction this second phase is the safeguard against the threat of tidal flooding that often occurs in the North Jakarta due to land subsidence as well as sea level rise.

"The contract is planned to be completed April 2018, cultivated completed in late 2017. The acceleration of four months from the contract," said Iskandar.

He explained that the two-phase project consists of two work packages, namely Package 1 is located in the Muara Baru village (Pluit), Penjaringan, North Jakarta with a length of dike 2,300 meters, and a contract value of Rp 379 billion. Currently, there are 104 rods spun pile in Package 1.

The Package 2 are located in Kali Baru Village, Cilincing, North Jakarta with a length of dike 2,200 meter of Rp 405 billion. Currently, there are 60 spun pile mounted on this package.

"Earlier in the project Phase 1, the dike has been done along 75 meters and was completed in 2014," he explained.

According to him, the construction of the Jakarta Coastal Security Phase 2 using spun pile diameter of 1.2 meters and 24 meters in length that will be installed using inner boring method with the trace towards the sea about 10 meters to 20 meters from the shoreline.

Later, over the dike will be made pedestrian, bicycle lanes, road inspection and a pier for fishing boats as well as environmental regulation.

Iskandar also guarantees Jakarta sea dike construction projects conducted by the Ministry of Public Work and Public Housing now will not disrupt the activities of fishermen to go to sea even be built pier for fishing ship.
