RP 2,2 TRILLION C-04 MARUNDA PROJECT

PT Kawasan Berikat Nusantara (KBN) will start the the construction of the pier along 1200 meters of land C-04 Marunda. The plan, construction will be done no later than the end of December 2016.

Operations Director of PT KBN (Persero) Sudiro Agung Dananto explained, it had to get permission from the Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, and the Provincial Government of Jakarta. "Licensing everything is obtained, our lives run and execute," said Sudiro.

He explained that the construction of the pier which can accommodate 12 ships docked it requires an investment of Rp 2.2 trillion. The fund is for the construction and equipment. Investment needs will be met from internal funds and financing of state-owned banks.

"The construction will done gradually, so that financing is gradual," he said.

Sudiro actually deliver many private banks that want to engage finance the construction of the pier, because this infrastructure has a very good economic prospects. All the results of studies on the national logistics system shows that the current logistics costs in Indonesia is very high. It contributes to the high prices of goods, and makes the value of Indonesia's exports uncompetitive.

To curb the high cost of logistics that KBN build a pier on land C-04 and provide containers stacking land and warehouse. It is expected the dwelling time at Tanjung Priok port can continue to be suppressed. "KBN wants to play a role in the development of the national economy by lowering logistics costs, one way to help lower the dwelling time at Tanjung Priok port," said Sudiro.

He explained that the dock to be built by KBN plans for activities of bulk, container transports between islands, and coastal shipping. Coastal shipping is the first government program, and mandated to KBN to create a special pier serve, Semarang-Surabaya, and Jakarta-Lampun route.
