KIMIA FARMA START BUILD RP 120 BILLION MATERIAL PLANT

PT Kimia Farma Tbk is ready to build a plant of pharmaceutical raw materials this month. If everything goes as planned, the plant is a joint venture with South Korean companies began groundbreaking October 10 later.

Eddy Murianto GM Corporate Secretary of PT Kimia Farma Tbk said plant construction is estimated to take two years and is expected to be completed in 2018. "The plant is producing raw materials cholesterol-lowering drugs, gastric pain, blood viscosity reduction and several other drugs," said Eddy.

More detail, the new plant to produce raw materials for drugs or active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) with a production capacity of 15 tons - 30 tons per year. In addition, production of high functional chemical (HFC) with a production capacity of 75 tons - 150 tons per year.

Meanwhile, shareholding of plant with an investment of Rp 110 billion is Kimia Farma 75%, and the rest Sungwun Pharmacopia Co. Ltd. When you have production, the main priority to meet domestic demand. As for the rest will be exported to the relation Sungwun Pharmacopia such as in Japan and the United States.

Rusdi Rosman, President Director of PT Kimia Farma Tbk added that currently more than 90% of the raw materials trade KAEF coded in the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) is still imported. Referring to the financial statements of the semester I-2016, manufacturing production costs of raw materials reached Rp 233.08 billion, or 13.71% of total cost of sales of Rp 1.7 trillion.
