Six companies
qualify for the binding bid phase on the auction of geothermal block owned by
Chevron in Indonesia, the company are Marubeni
Corporation, Star Energy, Mitsui & Co Ltd, Medco Energy, PT Pertamina
(Persero) and PT PLN (Persero ). In Indonesia, Chevron operates two geothermal
working areas namely Darajat and Gunung Salak. In addition to supplying
geothermal steam, Chevron also operates three units of geothermal power plants.
An estimated value of the assets was US$ 3 billion.
