The government targets to
auction off six geothermal blocks with a total capacity of 670 megawatts (MW)
to the end of this year. There will be two geothermal working areas to be
auctioned. Both geothermal working areas are Ciremai in West Java and Simbolon
Samosir in North Sumatra. Previously, the government has opened the auction of
four geothermal blocks namely Graho Nyabu 110 MW in Jambi, Hamiding 10 MW in
North Maluku, Gunung Galunggung 110 MW in West Java. and Gunung Wilis 2x10 MW
in East Java.
