JAVA-SUMATRA TRANSMISSION PROJECT CANCELLED

PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) again will issue a high voltage direct current (HVDC) projects of 500 kilovolt from the Electricity Supply Business Plan 2017-2026. HVDC was intended to supply power from Sumatra to Java, but the electrical conditions in Sumatra is still a crisis and inadequate. Thus the Head of Communications, Information Services and, Cooperation  Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Sujatmiko said it would wait for studies of PLN related to the HVDC project. The study results will be discussed with the parties concerned to be taken into consideration whether or not (HVDC) is inserted into a revision Electricity Supply Business Plan.
