President Joko
Widodo assess the development of power plant of 35,000 megawatts (MW) has not
been as expected. Related parties were asked to evaluate thoroughly in order to
accelerate the project. One form of evaluation the requested is the examination
by Financial and Development Supervisory Agency to ascertain the status of 34
power plant projects are stalled. Regarding the continuation of the 34 projects
were abandoned, President Director of PT PLN (Persero) Sofyan Basir explained
that there are 12 projects that were be dismissed, because some have not the
running and some not worth continuing. Executive Director of the Institute for
Essential Services Reform Fabby Tumiwa argues, power plant target of 35,000 MW
in five years is very heavy. That is, the government should build power plants
of 7,000 MW per year, while so far only capable of 4,000 MW.
