PT Perusahaan
Listrik Negara (Persero) and PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk. has not received
agreement in the South Sumatra 8 Steam Power Plant project. PLN willing to buy
electricity from power plants located in the South Sumatra at a higher rate
with terms of coal-based generation capacity was converted into a 4x300
megawatt (MW) of 2x600 MW initial plan. The Company requested the developer
namely PTBA to change the capacity South Sumatra 8 due to the immature state of
the transmission network built by PLN. With the reversal of the capacity will
affect the investment costs of the developer. Therefore, PLN is willing to
increase the price of electricity of US$ 0.5 per kilowatt hour (kWh) from the
initial price.
