PT Perusahaan Listrik
Negara (PLN) received four bidders of Java I Combined Cycle Power Plant with a capacity of 2 x 800 megawatts (MW).
Tender for the project was
delayed because the PLN management to change the auction mechanism involving
the procurement of fuel gas.
Initially, the gas supply
is projected to reach 250 MMSCFD per year is delivered directly to the

PLN Procurement Director
Supangkat Iwan Santoso said several consortia participating auction. First,
Mitsubishi consortium with PT Pembangkitan Jawa Bali (PJB) is none other than a
subsidiary of PT PLN, with PT Rukun Raharja. Second, Adaro consortium in collaboration
with the companies from Singapore, Sembcorp.
Third, Pertamina
consortium which took two Japanese companies, namely Marubeni and Sojitz. And
fourth, a consortium of Medco forward together companies from the Timur Tengah,
Nebras.
Supangkat mentions the
four consortia that have entered the tender documents in order to work on power
projects with an estimated investment cost of over US$ 2 billion or equivalent
to Rp 26 trillion.
Combined Cycle power plant
project has become one of the largest and most important project in this part
of 35,000 MW power project. "Two weeks to a month we review the
funding," says Supangkat.
