US$ 30 MILLION FOR WORKING ON PESONA KHATULISTIWA STEAM POWER PLANT PROJECT

PT Pesona Khatulistiwa Nusantara wants to build a steam power plant with a capacity of 25 megawatts (MW) in Bulungan, North Borneo.

The steam power plant is the Provincial Government of North Borneo order to provide electricity for public and office buildings in the region.

The electrical project did not make the electricity supply business plans (RUPTL) of government.
Therefore, Pesona Khatulistiwa still proposed a collaboration project with PT PLN (Persero).

"Right now we have steam power plant 1x7,5 MW, the governor asked adds 25 MW, already a letter from the governor only stayed cooperation how," said Jeffrey Mulyono, President Director of PT Pesona Khatulistiwa Nusantara.

Currently Pesona Khatulistiwa hold negotiations with PLN. These negotiations for the PLN to buy electricity that will be produced by Pesona Khatulistiwa or process of a power purchase agreement (PPA).

If the steam power plant project of 25 MW smoothly, Pesona Khatulistiwa will have two power plants. They already operates steam power plant of 7.5 MW which occupies a land area of 300 hectares (ha) in Bulungan.

Of electrical capacity of 7.5 MW, Pesona Khatulistiwa uses 5.5 MW for its own needs. Then, 2 MW rest is sold to PLN. Electricity rates to steam power plant 7.5 MW of Rp 852 per kilowatt hour (kWh).

Throughout this year, Pesona Khatulistiwa targeting the maximum production volume of coal, as many as 2 million tons. In the first half of 2016, they already realize the production of 1.5 million tons of coal.
