The governor of Riau Islands Nurdin Basirun targets to build more ports in order to accelerate economic growth in coastal areas.

"Ports in coastal areas should be constructed and developed for the flow of goods depends on fast or slow process of loading and unloading at the port. This is also affecting the price of goods on the market," said Nurdin.

Moreover, he continued, the central government incentive to build infrastructure to support Indonesia as the world's maritime axis.

                  

Meanwhile, Head of Department of Public Works Central Kalimantan Leonard S Ampung said he was planning to build a duplicate bridge at some point. Duplicate bridge, he added, will be built right next to the existing bridge. The goal, reducing the burden of the bridge and prevent events like the collapse of the bridge Tanggarong, East Kalimantan, in 2011.

"There are some bridges to be built duplicates, ie Bridge  of Kahayan, Pundu, Cempaga Hulu, and Katingan," he explained.

He added that the existing load has exceeded the tonnage bridge. "Many plantations and mining truck convoy that shorten the life of the bridge," he said.

Meanwhile, East Nusa Tenggara Governor Frans Lebu Raya ensure the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing in the process of administrative documents feasibility study Pancasila-Palmerah Bridge (Pantai Palo Tanah Merah). "The feasibility study is in progress in the construction of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing," he said.

Frans added, groundbreaking of Pancasila-Palmerah Bridge will be implemented after a series of events the peak of the archipelago's Day 2016 in the capital of the district, Lewoleba, on  December 13.

Frans targeting the construction of the bridge began on December 13. "In the memorandum B-to-B (business to business) with Tidal Bridge on April 22, the development plan began December 13, 2016," he said.
